Solar Panels
A solar panel is a set of photovoltaic modules electrically connected on a board. These cells collect photons (the light energy given off by the sun) and transform it into electricity. This energy can then be used at home to power appliances. The more solar panels you have the more energy you get. This also uses less of the government's electricity saving you money.

Solar Hot Water System
Tap water passes through copper pipes (because copper is the best conductor of heat) which are on the roof exposed to the sun. The sun heats up the pipes, heating up the water inside. The water is then stored in an insulated tank to keep it hot.

Wind Turbine
Wind turbines simply harness the wind's energy to generate electricity. The wind pushes the blades (1) which are connected to the rotor (2) to generate electricity. One turbine can be used to power one home but hundreds of them can be placed in a field to generate electricity for a nearby city.
Some other advantages of wind turbines are:
· They are a renewable energy resource – we always have wind!
· They do not emit greenhouse gases or any other pollution.
· They are more energy efficient than most power stations that burn fossil fuels.
· They are less costly to run than many other energy resources.
